USMAI School in Baku - A Report

October 22, 2018, Baku, Azerbaijan. A visiting USMAI School organized in cooperation with Azerbaijan Society of Allergy, Immunology and Rehabilitoligy was held in Hotel Hilton, Baku, Azerbaijan. The event gathered 150 allergists, pediatricians, dermatologists and related professionals. School shed the light both on general aspects of allergology development and on particular allergic diseases illustrated by real clinical cases.

The School was started by the speech of Prof. Amaliya Eyubova about worldwide trends in allergology development. Then, President of USMAI Alexander Nazarenko fill audience in on principles of molecular allergology and novel approaches to diagnosis and therapy of allergy on molecular level. Prof. Inna Gogunska shared with the audience information about main allergic molecules of rhinitis, and Prof. Tetyana Umanets dwelled on allergic molecules of asthma. President of NGO “Ukrainian Society for Celiac Disease” Dr. Olha Naumova characterized risk molecules in food. Top-5 clinical cases of polysensitization in Ukrainian population of 2017-2018 were described in the speech of the director of Laboratory “Forpost” (Kyiv, Ukraine) Galyna Nazarenko. The school ended by the speech of Prof. Tatiana Panakhova about current possibilities for allergy diagnosis and treatment in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

USMAI School became the first event in molecular allergology of this kind in Azerbaijan but got high interest from the audience. In the future, such schools will be organized on a regular basis giving the opportunity to more clinicians not only get acquaintance

In the future, schools of this format should be organized on a regular basis, giving an increasing number of doctors the possibility not only to be acquainted with molecular allergology but also to undergo a deeper study to use the latest technologies in their routine clinical practice.
